However, if you DON’T have a tablet, you may want to consider using this tool for colouring, as even with a mouse, you can still simulate pressure, because the tool doesn’t ultimately go to the darkest point, or use the most pigment it can for the colour when clicked. You can use this tool for colouring if you wish, though I find it more useful for soft shading. It doesn’t blend as much as some other tools in the program, but there is some definite blending there. These newest brushes reflect seven years of obsessive, masochistic iteration on making the best drawing tools possible. So, like I said, it really is different from how it’s sometimes done in other programs, and is indeed a very soft brush. In SAI, you have a brush that has a rather soft edge. My brushes for Manga Studio 5 or Clip Studio Paint like SAI watercolor, pencil, and pen plus one blender brush. Set blending and dilution about 50 and set presistence about 80. Select brush edge shape on right edge (harder shape) - Select density as about 100. Take the default paint program, in that, the Airbrush tool randomly colours pixels within it’s cursor. Draw to Layer 1 with brush or water color tool.
